Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Seniors Jaden Ramon and Marc Lister represented TYG at the Roundhouse earlier this month to share their experiences in the School of Engineering.

The Board of Education of Gallup McKinley County Schools will hold a regular meeting on February 18, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM in the board room of the Student Support Center, 640 S. Boardman, Gallup, NM 87301. Guests are invited to attend the meeting in person or watch a live stream.

Athlete of the Week 2/10/25--Collin Bennett--: In the game against Coronado on 2/1/25, Collin hit a clutch three in the fourth quarter that completely changed the momentum and energy of the game. Because of his efforts, TYG went on to win the game in one of the most exciting games this season. Collin is a three-sport athlete who excels in the game as well as in the classroom. He has been an honor roll student each semester since 9th grade. Collin works hard and is a positive example of what it means to be a student athlete.

Athlete of the Week for February 7, 2025: Aaron was instrumental in the Pine Hill game on 1/25/25. His ability to get boards and rebounds helped keep the score close in the first half. Aaron has improved since last season and is a key player for the team. His leadership as a senior is helping to build the upcoming players and continuing to keep TYG boys basketball striving for excellence.

During this week, Gallup McKinley County School District is honored to have phenomenal school counselors and Student Success Advisors committed to helping students identify their strengths, talents, and interests. These professionals also collaborate with families and community stakeholders to navigate the challenges of raising children in today’s world. Additionally, counselors and SSAs are crucial in enhancing students' academic, career, and social/emotional growth, while working alongside educators and administrators to create an environment where students can reach their full potential.

Track and Field starts in March! Please make sure your athlete has an updated physical.

Early Release is scheduled for Monday, January 27, 2025.

Athlete of the Week for January 31, 2025: In the game against Ramah, LaDainian Werito was the leading point scorer with 20 total points. After the first quarter, TYG was down by double digits. LaDainian’s effort throughout the game brought the team within three points of winning in a hard-fought contest that was thrilling to watch. As a senior, LaDainian made Principal’s Honor Roll for the first semester. He plans to pursue post-secondary training through Navajo Technical University in the fall.
